Those lawyers who can effectively distinguish themselves through their reputation, track record, and innovative practices are more likely to thrive and build a successful, fulfilling career.

Differentiation sets lawyers apart. It enables those lawyers to showcase their unique skills and expertise, and to build a strong and reputable personal brand. This, in turn, helps foster loyalty from existing clients, interest from prospective clients, and elevates that lawyer’s competitive edge as referring attorneys remember and recommend those with a distinctive presence.

Ah, but how?

One means of differentiation is wielded by the attorneys who recognize visual persuasion, and its ever-increasing importance in today’s world, as an essential component of their practice. who study how to use those visuals effectively, especially when it matters most (99.3% of federal civil cases end before trial, hmmm…!). It works because: (a) not many lawyers think this way when putting a case together; (b) the rest of the world does think this way, including clients and jurors; and (c) visuals improve your practice well beyond the differentiation effect.

As lawyers we have one principal job: to persuade. Visual communication has time and again been proven by cognitive scientists, for decades now, to be the most persuasive communication tool. The time is right to recognize the trajectory of persuasion in our society, to embrace the many cognitive benefits of visual communication, and to position yourself for growth through differentiation.

If you’re considering bringing visuals into a particular case, or want to learn more about how to foster a visual practice, I’d love to discuss possibilities with you.
